Chumphon located 3 hrs South of Hua Hin offers some beautiful and unspoilt beaches away from the bustling resorts such as Phuket or Pattaya. Enjoying a slight boom in local and traveller tourism, Chumphon is an ideal "getaway" place with crowd free beaches and small family run beach resorts. Chumphon's main town has a thriving fishing industry, as well as lots of local banana plantations. This is truly a "Thai" local resort. If its clear waters, and snorkelling or diving that interest you, then Chumphon offers some lovely small Islands and crystal clear waters. Chumphon Cabana is probably the best resort for water sports, as they also have a PADI dive centre located in the resort. as well as a fully fitted dive boat with "live a board" dive trips to the neighbouring Koh Tao. Located on Thung Wua Laen Beach Chumphon Cabana also offers very nice accommodation, and full facilities, including one of the biggest swimming pools in Southern Thailand.
