Victoria Point :
This small port at the
southernmost tip of mainland Myanmar is separated from Thailand by the
broad estuary of the Chan River. To the British it was Victoria Point and
to the Thais it's Koh Song, which means Second Island. Kawthaung is the
Burmese name.
We can take a boat trip to visit this interesting Island from the Port of Ranong, our guide will take you with a local "long tail" boat a cross the beautifully scenic open estuary to Koh Song Island. Once ashore you will instantly see the difference between mainland Thailand and here, especially with its local people. Onto visit the lovely Mountain top temple, where we take in stunning views over the ocean, and see the "Burmese" style Buddha images. Lunch is taken with locals in a port side "cafe" before you are set free to explore the local market, before returning to the mainland. |

Koh Payam :
This gorgeous little
island is truly the undiscovered pearl of the Andaman Sea with long white
sandy beaches, clear blue sea, coral reefs, it’s the perfect place to
really get away from it all. Take in the relaxing ambience while
lying in a hammock doing absolutely nothing except sipping cool drinks,
and watching the sunsets. For the energetic amongst us, we can take
fishing trips out onto the clear Andaman Sea, where there is an abundance
of game fish awaiting, also snorkelling is a must in these crystal
clear waters. Boat trips are also available to the many neighbouring
islands including Koh Surin . The two main bays are Aow Yai – the sunset
bay, and Aow Khao Kwai. Both bays have long curving white sandy beaches.
Inland activities include mini hikes into the hills, forests and jungle
treks. There are tidal mangrove forests and lots of wildlife including
monkeys, boars, and some beautiful and rare birds. A small track runs
around the island making everything accesable by foot, bike or
motor-scooters which are available for hire. Accommodation is mostly
bungalow resorts offering rooms which are exceptionally good,
clean and comfortable , including the charming Bamboo Bungalows on Aow Yai
beach. A boat taxi to the island leaves at 2 pm every day from the pier at
Sapan Plaa, the trip costs 100 baht per person and takes about an hour and
a half. The boat back leaves Koh Phayam at 8 am. |

| Hot Springs : About 1km east of Jansom Ranong Mineral Hot Springs at Wat Tapotaram. Water temperature hovers around 65 ํC, and is hot enough to boil eggs. You can bathe in rustic rooms (10B per person) where you scoop water from separate hot and cool water tanks and sluice the mixed water over your body Thai style, also there is a new "foot bath" area next to the stream, which is free to all.
